We love to read!  Who doesn't.  These are some of the books we are reading at the moment.

Our aim is to sell you the book.  Does the book review make you want to go and find it in the library?
Remember when you are leaving comments to be a multi-structual thinker you need to

Peace Week

During Peace Week PAKURAKURA read why we are making origami cranes.

This is a famous story called Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes.

As a class we asked interesting questions as we listened to the first four chapters.

We spoke about how we can stop conflict in our own lives, whether this is at school, at home, with friends or family.  So next time your Mum asks you to tidy your room, don't cause conflict, be peaceful and go and do it!  Mum will love that! :-)

Making connections

We have been learning how to make connections in our reading.

Book making

What fun we had making our first books.  Who knew a couple bits of paper and staples would entertain for ages.

After we made our books we found pictures of animals.  We became our very own illustrators for our first books.  Once the illustrations were complete we needed  story.  How exciting we were authors just like Joy Cowley who has written some of our favourite books.

These were our first books and we learnt so much about how books work.
Samantha said "I need a title for my book."  George said "I am using finger spacing just like in real books."  Asher said "my pictures match my story."
