Matariki, the Maori New Year is fast approaching and we wanted to learn more about what it means and represents.
During Matariki the moon is what we call a Full Moon. This video explains the different phases of the moon and how we never get to see all of the moon, only one half.
The full moon is important to Maori people because that is when they traditionally sow seeds getting ready for the upcoming season.
Unsure how to pronounce the constellation that we call Matariki?
